Actually, Cocos Keeling is the first stop for desperate refugees seeking a better life in Australia. Hence; overcrowded old fishing boats are crossing the Indian Ocean from as far as Sri Lanka, putting aside all ideas of safety, hygiene or comfort. For the refugees, Cocos Keeling represent the first coast of Australia and the hope of a new life. However, even if they get so far, the road is still long.... |
